lived experience

On a personal note, I have lived experience in many of the specialties listed above. Most notably, I spent years struggling with severe symptoms of bipolar disorder and psychosis beginning in my late 20s. I am very open in discussing my life experiences with those I work with. I look forward to sharing more about myself when we begin working together. I hope you will learn from my story and feel inspired by hearing how far I’ve come! Professional Experience

My personal, professional, and educational background all center around mental health support, advocacy, and recovery. I have more than 15 years of experience working with adults, children, and families, and offering mental health support in both English and Spanish. Over the years, I have worked as a: 

  • Peer support specialist 

  • Parent educator 

  • Therapist 

  • Job coach

  • Psychoeducation provider

  • Educational and financial aid advisor 

  • Community resource specialist

  • Spanish language translator/interpreter

EDUCATION & TRAINING

My educational experience includes obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies from UW-Eau Claire and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UW-Stout. For my Master’s degree, I specialized in both Counseling Children and Adolescents as well as Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counseling.

My work is informed by trainings I have completed including, but not limited to:
