Values

Person-Centered
Being person-centered means that your voice is brought to the forefront when we work together. We want to hear your perspective, your preferences, your past experiences, and your hopes and dreams. We want to meet you where you’re at, while also helping you work toward getting to where you want to be.
-

Hope-Driven
Hope is a catalyst for change and an essential component of recovery. Our goal is to always hold hope for those who are struggling, without minimizing their hardships or invalidating their emotions. Hope isn’t just wishing that change will come your way; it’s believing that your actions can and will make a difference.
-

Strengths-Based
Everybody has strengths – a combination of skills, aptitudes, experiences, and/or personality characteristics that make you special. An important part of our work together is identifying your unique strengths and using them as an asset in your recovery. If you don’t yet have a grasp on how to harness your strengths, that’s okay! Let’s work on this together.

Growth-Oriented
Humans, by nature, are growth-oriented. We strive to learn, grow, and continually improve our lot in life. When mental health challenges arise, it is common for this natural tendency toward growth to become thwarted. As we work together, let’s be mindful of setting realistic, attainable goals that allow you to rebuild confidence and cultivate a sense of accomplishment.
Mission
The mission of Aviva Recovery is to assist individuals struggling with mental health and/or substance use challenges in reaching a state of recovery, as defined by the individual. Our philosophy is that each of us carries within ourselves the knowledge, wisdom, and internal resources to achieve stability, balance, and well-being. Our mission is to instill hope and to provide guidance, empowerment, and support in a manner that facilitates and inspires long-lasting change.
Vision
Our vision is that every individual seeking recovery feels seen, respected, and capable of growth. We aspire to contribute to transformative change by promoting connection, education, and self-discovery.
Recovery Philosophy
The experts define recovery as “a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential.” (SAMHSA)
In our view, recovery is also:
Highly personal
Not one-size-fits-all
Non-linear
An ongoing, never-ending process
There are many paths to achieving recovery. It’s something that we must choose and work for, day in and day out. Recovery doesn’t mean our life will be perfect or that we will never struggle. Recovery is often not easily attainable, but it is a worthwhile goal that we are all capable of achieving.
