Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is a service that can be provided to individuals and/or family members. The goal of psychoeducation is to provide education, information, and resources that lead to greater understanding of and ability to manage a mental health or substance use issue. Psychoeducation often includes education about diagnoses, symptoms, and treatment options; assistance with coping skills and self-advocacy; and emotional support.

It is important to note that psychoeducation is not the same as psychotherapy. Psychoeducation focuses on learning, problem-solving, and developing skills, while psychotherapy is a space for processing emotions, treating trauma, and so on. When providing psychoeducation, we incorporate different mediums such as worksheets, infographics, workbooks, videos, and reading recommendations.
